You’ll hear about the synergy of NAIFA’s political involvement, political giving, and professional lobbying efforts, learn how you can guide government relations efforts in your state, and understand both where to find and how to use the tools to promote the ideas you learn about today.

Most of NAIFA’s advocacy resources may be found at www.naifa.org/advocacy. On the advocacy site, you can learn about the legislative and regulatory issues of interest to NAIFA, access issue papers that you can share with NAIFA members and elected officials. You can also contribute to IFAPAC, sign up as an APIC key contact, join the Congressional Council, and access several tools to keep both you and your state association's members informed. The blog also is a place to present the role of the agent and the services they provide, and it covers newsworthy happenings within the association. The blog's comments section is a place for you to present your ideas and respond to our posts. The blog frequently is read by reporters who write stories about how legislative and regulatory issues are impacting the agent community.

Getting Involved! APIC/Grassroots/Grasstops:
Just as important as political giving is political involvement. This entails establishing relationships with your Members of Congress and meeting with them regularly to discuss important NAIFA issues. Contacting your legislators - NAIFA’s Legislative Action Center:
NAIFA allows you to get into contact with your state and federal legislators, to follow legislation, and to contact your media outlets. You can do all of that at NAIFA’s Legislative Action Center, found here: capwiz.com/naifa/home.

Congressional Conference - Since 2013 thousands of NAIFA members from every corner of the country come to Washington, DC annually to meet with lawmakers and advise them on how their decisions affect agents, brokers, and their clients.
The goal of this Conference is to establish and cultivate relationships with lawmakers, to share the expertise of NAIFA members, and educate them on the value of life insurance, annuities, retirement savings, and employee benefits for 75 million american Families. Congressional Council - The Congressional Council is NAIFA's newest advocacy program, designed to maximize donations to both NAIFA's War Chest and IFAPAC. Contributions to IFAPAC allow NAIFA to support candidates for elected office who value the role of insurance agents and financial advisors and who believe public policy should help, not hinder, access to products and services that allow Americans to secure their financial futures. War Chest funds are used to fund high priority - often emergency - legislative and regulatory initiatives that exceed NAIFA's budget.
